Black Hat Miniatures is a manufacturer of high quality 15, 18,25 and 28mm wargames figures.

We purchased Gladiator Games in August 2006 and now produce the Gladiator Miniatures ranges and distribute the Coat D'Arms range of acrylic paints.

Please Note: There may be some delay with Gladiator Miniatures orders as we are still casting to order for a lot of ranges. Thus, some orders could take two weeks or so..

“Morituri Te Salutant” Gladiator Rules Re-released.

We are pleased to announce the release of a new edition of ‘Morituri Te Salutant’, the popular Gladiatorial combat rules previously published by Gladiator Games.

They cover:

Martian Empires Released

We are very pleased to announce the publication of Oozlum Games first ruleset in the form of Martian Empires – a set of fast-play big battles rules for Victorian Science Fiction games.

Martian Empires is in full colour throughout, runs to 52 pages excluding covers, and includes full rules, army lists and five introductory scenarios. The rules are priced at GBP15.00.

Black Hat Miniatures launched a comprehensive range of Martian warriors and space-faring Victorian British soldiers in November 2004. This range now includes over 50 packs and vehicles and is still growing.

Oozlum Games, the publishers of Martian Empires, is a joint venture between Black Hat Miniatures and Fighting 15s. Martian Empires is the first in a series of rules that we will be publishing over the next few years based on the Huzzah! System.

Price Increases
Along with a number of other small (and not so small!) Miniatures companies, we have had a number of price increases from suppliers over the last year and unfortunately now need to raise our own prices to compensate.

The ranges affected are:

Coat D'arms Paints
Paints rise 10p to £1.50 a pot, Brushscape 25p to £4.00, and the Superstar and Professional paint brushes by 25p to £2.00/£2.50 respectively.

The paint sets and paint deals rise a corresponding amount.

Gladiator Miniatures 15mm
The Gladiator Miniatures 15mm pack codes rise by about 10%, so a pack of 10 infantry or 5 cavalry is now £2.20, command packs are £1.40, etc.

The army packs rise to £39 for 20 packs.

Black Hat Samurai
These increase by 10% to £5.50 a pack.

All of the other ranges (Black Hat Miniatures, Gladiator Miniatures 25mm, Magnaflex, etc remain unchanged.)

These price increases take effect immediately and the online shop and catalogue has been updated accordingly.

Previews of New Releases

We have updated the news page with previews of the new releases for our Mutants and Madmen SF range which will be released at Warfare. These are a range of Skeletal Marines and a some additios to the Dvarg range of Space Dwarves.

SELWG Show Cancelled

The SELWG show has been cancelled. Please see the letter below:

CANCELLATION NOTICE

It is with profound regret that South East London Wargames Group (SELWG) announce that the SELWG Show, scheduled to take place on Sunday 21st October 2007 at the Crystal Palace National Sports Centre in London, is herby cancelled.

This is due to the fact that asbestos has been found in the roof area of the main hall and the building has been closed for health and safety reasons.

We have tried to identify other areas within the centre that we could have used to allow the Show to still be held. Unfortunately there are no other suitable areas and we very reluctantly have to acknowledge that our Show will not be able to take place.

Black Hat buys Chinese Fantasy Range

We are very pleased to announce that we have bought the rights to the 28mm
Chinese fantasy range from the range's sculptor Martin Baker. This range was
previously marketed as BC Miniatures and sold through Magister Militum. The
range is big and currently only in master moulds, so it is going to take us
a while to produce production moulds and get the range back into production.

We plan to group the figures into sets (which will enable us to reduce the
prices previously charged for the figures) and will also be adding Line
Infantry packs to enable a full army to be built using these figures. We
hope to get the dragons and the first few packs into production in time for
SELWG on October 21st, though we may only have limited stock at that point.

We will be working closely with Martin Baker in the future to expand the
range (once it is fully released again). Please watch the news for details
of the new name for the range, the first releases and future plans.

MAXIMILIAN! V2.0 released

Our latest release are the Maximilian! rules for fast play Renaissance games. These are second edition of Dan Johnson's rules which have been out of print for a number of years. They include the fast play rules and 30 army lists covering renaissance armies from English and Scottish to the armies of the Italian Wars. The rules have a card cover and contain 48 pages, with a separate playsheet.

We have also released 12 Maximilian! army starter packs which each contain 24 elements and a general to provide a balanced starting force.
